Michael, and many other members of the origami community, have long envisioned such a book--a photographic "exhibit" of notable, contemporary, origami masterworks and innovative designs, representing origami artists from all over the world. Rockport Publishers (Quarry Books) agreed that this treatment was long overdue, and after a year of international communications, some 40 origami artists and designers sent examples of their work to Massachusetts for full color portraits. Many of the models featured, such as Eric Joisel's Pangolin , are "one-of-a-kind" pieces and are not diagrammed .
