10 lessons - for ages 8 and up.

Total run time is approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes.

This presentation features ten of Michael G. LaFosse's best-flying, original origami airplane designs. You will not find this collection in any book!

"Planes for Brains" was our first video production, which convinced us that video was the way to go! Company president, Richard Alexander, asked Michael LaFosse to fold for the camera his magnificent origami F-14 TOMCAT. Richard thought that Michael's twenty-page set of diagrams for this model was beyond the abilities of the non-origami literate. Though the diagrams were very clear they frustrated many in their attempts to fold the F-14, even engineers! Not only was Richard was able to successfully fold the F-14 using the video footage, but even a neighbor's eight-year-old boy was able to learn it! The boy memorized the F-14 and began to teach it to some of his third grade school friends. This proved to us that origami and video were a great team. You will appreciate the in-flight video footage of many of the planes, which also shows how to hold and launch particular models for top performance. Michael's F-14 Tomcat, Star Cruiser, F-102 Delta Fighter, Flying Fox, Art Deco Wing, Luna Moth, Nifty- 50 Fighter, Bullhead Jet and Chuck Finn are all on this tape.

Suitable for ages 8 through adult, this collection of origami designs is progressive, from simple to complex, and works as a skill-builder for all aspects of origami airplane craftsmanship and design. Any kind of paper can be used to fold these great models.

School groups, museums, and activity focussed organizations will enjoy origami as an event by holding a paper airplane contest! Use this DVD for a pre-contest workshop, then give it away as FIRST PRIZE!
